While exploring the web, I saw the word “chatbot” somewhere. Later, when I went to town and got my brother’s laptop, I searched on google about chatbots. This way, I got to know about Chatfuel. This developed a new obsession in me of designing chatbots using drag & drop tools. Over time, I would explore ManyChat, SilFerBots / Chatrace, Activechat, XeroChat / ChatPion as different alternatives- Alhamdulillah.
The Paragraph Bot was one of the first chatbots I designed when I was in class nine as far as I can remember. The chatbot has many features beside the paragraphs itself. It was purely a keyword based chatbot which had all the functionalities inside Chatfuel itself without any Google Sheet or API integrations. Also, at the time- conversational AI like ChatGPT or Gemini was not a thing. I had a second hand Nokia X2-01 mobile by this time. This mobile phone had a Facebook lite java application installed. So, the initial goal of the Paragraph Bot was to make a list of paragraphs which I will be able to access from my mobile phone by sending a message to the facebook page through the facebook lite app. [Facebook Post announcing launch of the Paragraph Bot]
Tumpa was a chatbot inspired by Botolota for conversation with people. It was before the conversation AIs were a thing. Dialogflow was popular for intent detection, but I didn’t know about it and also was ignorant about how to use it. So, I went with the basic keyword based approach. A few APIs were also implemented as queries grew over time to offer an admin panel and sheet for adding new queries and responses without accessing into the chatfuel dashboard.
There was a limit of 5,000 users in the Free plan of chatfuel at the time which was hit. So, to avoid upgrading to a paid plan- a new page was created with the name Rumpa. Tumpa also had a team for posting different contents on the Facebook page. The 5K user limit was unlimited at the beginning of 2017. Later it went to 5,000. Gradually to 1,000; then 500 and now only allowing 50 users on Free plan as of 2026.
CoronaSohayota was an initiative during the time of covid pandemic for spreading awareness and information about the number of infected people.
The chatbot contained misconception debunking, symptom list, news, helpline, initial corona questionnaires and live corona infected data.
This chatbot was one of the most influential during the time of the pandemic. Chatfuel also provided a free pro plan for the chatbot for some time due to its nature. Later as the free pro plan expired and needed actual payments, the chatbot went quiet.
Robotech was a failed project. The goal was to have a chatbot containing all the technical issues a person can have in their android phone or laptop to be listed in the chatbot in a fashion through which users will be able to find the answers. The plan was to gather the most frequently asked questions and then train the chatbot for intent identification through Dialogflow. [Robotech Guidebook - Mar 12, 2021]
